Student Enrichment
Instrumental Music
Fifth grade students have the opportunity to participate in an instrumental music class throughout the year.  Instruction is provided by Lincoln Lutheran High School music staff.  There is a minimal fee for this program.
Field Trips
Our classes take several field trips throughout the year as a means to enrich the curriculum.
Destinations include, The Lied Center, Morrill Hall, Air & Space Museum, Pioneer School, pet stores, dentists, grocery stores, apple orchards, pumpkin patches, and many more. 
Students participate in an annual project on a rotation basis for a Science Fair, a Geography Fair, Art Fair or STREAMS Open House. 

Special Visitors
Special visitors are invited into the classroom to educate the students about a variety of topics including:
  • Musicians
  • Robotics
  • Astronauts
  • Zoo Animals
  • Puppeteers
  • Husker Athletes
  • Guest Readers
  • And more...
SCRIPPS Spelling Bee
Our school participates in the Scripps Spelling Bee each year.  Students who win at the school level may continue on by winning a series of spelling competitions and eventually qualify for participation in the Scripps National Spelling Bee held near Washington, D. C.

Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach
Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach 
Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach (MTKO) is a faith-based hunger relief and outreach program in Lincoln that was established in 1992. Devoted to serving homeless and near homeless men, women, and children, MTKO provides meals twice daily, every day of the year.
Once a month a small group of 5th graders serve meals to people in need at MTKO.  They help prepare the food, serve it, and clean up afterwards.  The students also get to eat lunch there as well.
